Meridian is a habit tracker for iPhone and iPad. This policy describes how the app handles information. We designed Meridian to keep your habit content on your device. Use of Meridian is also governed by our Terms of Service.
Habits, progress, streaks, and settings are stored locally using Apple’s SwiftData and on-device storage. This includes:
Meridian includes Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets. To show and update habit progress, the main app and widget extension share a snapshot of habit data through an Apple App Group (group.com.maximillianhum.Meridian) stored in on-device shared preferences. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to us or any third party.
If Meridian cannot open your saved data after an app update, it may move the previous database files into a StoreBackups/ folder on your device before creating a fresh store. These backups remain on your device only.
Meridian may occasionally ask a short in-app question (for example after a streak milestone). Tapping a multiple-choice chip may send an anonymous event name to our analytics host. If you add a free-text note, it is opened in a studio-controlled channel (such as a GitHub issue draft) and is not sent to analytics.
To understand retention and which features are used, Meridian may send aggregated, anonymous events to Aptabase (Cloud, United States). Examples include app_opened, habit_created, habit_logged, settings_opened, and streak milestones. Properties are limited to coarse enums (for example cadence, visual style name, count buckets). We do not send habit names, reminder text, free-form notes, email addresses, Apple or Google account identifiers, or HealthKit values.
Analytics uses a randomly generated install identifier stored on your device. It is not linked to an account. Aptabase processes these events on our behalf; see Aptabase’s privacy policy. This is product analytics, not advertising measurement, and does not require App Tracking Transparency.
Meridian does not access your contacts, photos, camera, microphone, location, health data, or advertising identifier. Habit names and completion history are not transmitted for analytics.
Meridian is suitable for general audiences and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
We may update this policy when the app changes. The effective date at the top will be revised. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
