These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Meridian mobile application for iPhone and iPad (“Meridian,” “the app,” or “the Service”), developed and operated by Maximillian Hum (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By downloading, installing, or using Meridian, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
Meridian is a habit tracker that helps you log progress toward daily or weekly goals. Each habit can be shown through a visual metaphor (for example orbit, tide, or bloom) in the app and in Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets. Meridian is provided for personal, non-commercial use.
Meridian does not require sign-in. Your habits and settings are stored on your device. See our Privacy Policy for how data is handled.
Subject to these Terms and the Apple Media Services Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Meridian on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, solely for your personal use. You may not copy, modify, redistribute, sublicense, sell, or reverse engineer the app except as permitted by applicable law.
You are responsible for the habits, targets, and other information you enter in Meridian. Data stays on your device. Maintain backups through Apple’s device backup tools (for example iCloud Backup or encrypted local backup).
If Meridian cannot open your saved data after an update, the app may move prior database files into an on-device StoreBackups/ folder before creating a fresh store. We are not liable for data loss caused by device failure, deletion of the app, failed backups, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Widgets display a snapshot of habit progress shared between the main app and the widget extension through an Apple App Group (group.com.maximillianhum.Meridian). Widget behavior depends on iOS and may differ from in-app behavior during background updates.
Meridian is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. Meridian is not medical, therapeutic, or professional advice.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Maximillian Hum will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of Meridian. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim (or USD $0 if the app was provided at no charge).
We may update Meridian and these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
